    Technically the nWo was started by Eric Bischoff who got the idea after a visit to Japan, but storywise the nWo was started by Scott Hall and Kevin Nash. Originally Sting was supposed to be the third partner at Bash at the Beach but Hogan used it creative control clause and forced his way in.
