"The Biggest Event of the Summer" will take place on August 23, 2009 at Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. You can check out the poster at this link.

    - WNW reader Anthony sent this in... Stone Cold's film The Condemned is available on The Movie Channel on Demand. John Cena's movie 12 Rounds is featured on the video loop shown on the Movies on Demand channels.

    Matt Hardy Update

    WNW reader Joe sent word Matt Hardy posted the following blog on his MySpace page yesterday:

    The Hurdle Awaits..and I'm ready to cross it, jump it, or plow over it. Either way, I'm excited to enter into a new, better chapter of my life and career. A chapter that I've waited for many years to finally write.. and the time is now. For all my loyal and faithful peeps, thanks for always supporting and believing in me. Get ready, cause when I re-debut on Smackdown, nothing's gonna stop me-in the ring or in life..

    Joe also sent word Hardy posted "A Brand New Matt Hardy Is Coming". "Be Ready!!!" on his Twitter page. While I do not information on what Matt is referring too, there has at least been talk about re-debuting him as a babyface when he returns.

    "Rowdy" Roddy Piper Update

    "Rowdy" Roddy Piper was released from a Los Angeles jail earlier today on $5000 bond and has a court date set for July 23rd. Piper was arrested earlier this morning on suspicion of Driving Under the Influence.

    WWE officials recently contacted Piper about doing some appearances on television for the company.

    New Interviews With Tommy Dreamer, Melina, & Cody Rhodes

    Details On The Remaining WWE TV Tapings For This Week

    Tonight's edition of ECW on Sci-Fi is scheduled to air live from the Save Mart Center in Fresno, California in the Eastern and Central time zones. The company will then tape this week's edition of SmackDown. Tomorrow night, the company will tape next week's edition of ECW and SmackDown from Bakersfield, California before the SmackDown/ECW crews head overseas to Japan and the Philippines.

    Dark Match Result From Tonight's PPV

    Wrestling News World reader CCM sent word that R-Truth b. Shelton Benjamin prior to tonight's Bash pay-per-view in Sacramento, California.

    What You Didn't See On WWE The Bash

    Below is off air notes from WWE The Bash that was held tonight at the ARCO Arena in Sacramento, California. Special thanks to Wrestling News World reader CCM for sending text-message updates.

    * Prior to the event, R-Truth took on Shelton Benjamin in a Dark Match.

    * A few sections were tarped off a in the upper level.

    * Before The Bash went live Lilian Garcia sang the National Anthem.

    * A WrestleMania 25 video package was shown followed by WWE’s ‘Don’t try this at home’ clip.

    * Rey Mysterio received a large pop while Jericho drew a lot of heat.

    * Hardly any reaction at all during the Divas Match.

    * CM Punk gets a lot of heat for his cheap shot DQ.

    * Randy Orton received heat throughout his match. Triple H got a huge pop especially with the sledgehammer.
