Raw Review 8/31/2009: Dusty Rhodes Special Guest Host

Friday, September 4, 2009, 07:44 AM CST [Raw]

    Raw Special Guest Host
WWE Hall of Famer: "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes was special guest host for Raw. Cody Rhodes saw his dad on Raw. This isn't my favorite guest host.

Beth Phoenix def. Kelly Kelly, Gail Kim, Rosa Mendes, Jillian, & Alicia Fox (American Dream Six Diva Battle Royal and the winner Will Receive a title shot later tonight against WWE Divas Champion: Mickie James)
This match was just a standard over the top battle Royal match. This match went particularly pretty fast. Divas were getting thrown left and right. For the diva over the top battle Royal matches they need to last longer and be better. Beth Phoenix was the last diva standing in the ring and earned a title shot to face WWE Divas Champion: Mickie James later tonight for the WWE Divas title.

1/2 of the WWE Tag Team & 1/2 of the WWE World Tag Team Champions: Chris Jericho def. Montel Vontavious Porter
    Chris Jericho won yet again.

Hornswoggle def. Chavo Guerrero (Bull Rope Match)
This was a comedy match. A Bull Rope. Chavo Guerrero came to the ring wearing a cow suit and Hornswoggle came to the ring wearing a rodeo suit. This match was awful and this match ended quickly. Hornswoggle had won.

Mark Henry def. 1/2 of the WWE Tag Team & 1/2 of the WWE World Tag Team Champions: Big Show (Disqualification)
This match was between the "World's Strongest Man"Mark Henry and "The World's Largest Athlete" Big Show. This was a better match than the previous match but also very lame. I wish this match didn't end in a Disqualification. I wanted it to end in a KO.

WWE United States Champion: Kofi Kingston def. The Miz, Jack Swagger, & Carlito (Fatal Four Way Match for the WWE United States Championship)
This was a high-flying high-paced match for the WWE United States Championship. There were a lot of great moves used by all four competitors. Kofi Kingston retains his WWE United States title belt by Trouble in Paradise. This was the best match in the night.

WWE Divas Champion: Mickie James def. Beth Phoenix (WWE Divas Championship Match)
Earlier in the night Beth Phoenix def. Kelly Kelly, Gail Kim, Rosa Mendes, Jillian, & Alicia Fox to earn a spot against the WWE Divas Champion: Mickie James for the WWE Divas Championship. I am sick and tired watching Beth Phoenix vs. Mickie James for a Championship belt in singles action. We need new Divas getting an opportunity to have a chance at the belt. Mickie James retains her WWE Divas Championship belt via DDT.

WWE Champion: Randy Orton vs. Cody Rhodes (Special Guest Referee: John Cena; WWE Championship Match; No-Contest)
This was match is for the WWE Championship and the Special Guest Referee is John Cena. But wait Dusty Rhodes was in Cody Rhodes corner during the match. But the match never started. Randy Orton double-crossed Dusty Rhodes and Team Legacy assaulted the special guest referee John Cena. Then D-Generation X made the save by saving John Cena from the carnage.

    Match Results
Beth Phoenix def. Kelly Kelly, Gail Kim, Rosa Mendes, Jillian, & Alicia Fox (American Dream Six Diva Battle Royal and the winner Will Receive a title shot later tonight against WWE Divas Champion: Mickie James)
1/2 of the WWE Tag Team & 1/2 of the WWE World Tag Team Champions: Chris Jericho def. Montel Vontavious Porter
Hornswoggle def. Chavo Guerrero (Bull Rope Match)
Mark Henry def. 1/2 of the WWE Tag Team & 1/2 of the WWE World Tag Team Champions: Big Show (Disqualification)
WWE United States Champion: Kofi Kingston def. The Miz, Jack Swagger, & Carlito (Fatal Four Way Match for the WWE United States Championship)
WWE Divas Champion: Mickie James def. Beth Phoenix (WWE Divas Championship Match)
WWE Champion: Randy Orton vs. Cody Rhodes (Special Guest Referee: John Cena; WWE Championship Match; No-Contest)
